Bitcoin mining Radeon 6670

Currently Bitcoin has been getting a lot of attention from the media with people like the Winklevoss twins (Facebook twins) holding a large stake of Bitcoin. I started my venture when a colleague showed me 0.25BTC in his electronic wallet, from then on I have been following the digital currency.

I first bought 0.25BTC @ £25 and managed to increase that to 0.3BTC through exchanging Bitcoin to Litecoin (alternative coin, like silver to BTC Gold) and then back again. Then finally I traded my Bitcoin to Litecoin and accrued 24LTC through mining.

Mining is the "primary purpose of mining is to allow Bitcoin nodes to reach a secure, tamper-resistant consensus. Mining is also the mechanism used to introduce Bitcoins into the system: Miners are paid any transaction fees as well as a "subsidy" of newly created coins. This both serves the purpose of disseminating new coins in a decentralized manner as well as motivating people to provide security for the system." Although you can mine any of the alternative digital currencies.

I started off mining Litecoin on a Radeon HD 6670 with Cgminer (--shaders 480 -l 16 -w 256 -g 1). I overclocked the graphics card to GPU Clock 900 MHz and Memory 1150Mhz which gets me 126Kh/s. However if you are new and don't have a AMD graphics card (NVIDIAs don't mine so well) then I recommend getting into cloud mining via CEX (click the banner below)

You can buy hashing power here which will automatically mine Bitcoin, as well as other alternative coins. Currently I have 1.76Gh/s here which gets me fair amount of coins.
