Bitcoin 8332
Description: This presentation will give understandable introduction into the principles that make Bitcoin work, how Bitcoins can be kept and how they can be obtained.
January 3, 2009 is the date a new history started: the one of Bitcoin. Before this date, a lot of research and development already took place, but the mystery of that period is that no-one knows who has been involved with the project at that time.
The last four years has brought a lot to Bitcoin. One of the characteristics is that Bitcoin has reached the news several times: the exchange rate has never been stable. Starting as a worthless currency, Bitcoin reached a high over $30 in 2011, plummeted to around $5 and is at another high in 2013 (around $45 at the time of writing this abstract).
This presentation will begin with an understandable introduction into the principles that make Bitcoin work which allows the audience to understand how Bitcoin works, what its potentials are and why several rumours cannot be true.
Additionally, a couple of methods to keep Bitcoins are discussed, including PC/laptop/server, mobile phone, in the cloud or even on paper. The talk ends with some pointers for people that want to obtain Bitcoin and after the presentation the speaker has a small amount of Bitcoin available to trade for cash euros.
